Love is in the air - Looking for Valentines Day gift ideas?

I don't know about you but I've got to that age where most of my vacation time is being planned around weddings, and with Valentine's day on the way I thought it would be good time to look into designs that are focused on not just the things we love, but the people too.

Personally I'm not one for matching couples t-shirts, but I can't help but admire the people who are. Public displays of affection are not for everyone, but showing your love for someone is important especially in a time when media is filled with hate. Little gestures can mean the world to someone and often we take the good things in our lives for granted, so although at the heart of it this is just your average marketing post, I write this with a bitter taste in my mouth. Love should not be confined to one day of the year, or material gifts, it should be present in everything we do and in every moment of our lives. A little love can go a long long way.

So love. Love your friends and family, love your pets. Love your hobbies and your fandoms. Let others love what they love. If you love someone's hair tell them, if you love someone's cooking tell them, if you love their t-shirt tell them!

Ah yes, we're back to the material things. I guess we do live in a material world.

It's not always easy to tell someone you love them, but gifts are one of the ways we have learned to say I love you without saying a word. My day is easily made by gifts that represent my favourite videogames or anime series, and I love seeing my husbands smile when I make a t-shirt or hoodie design with him in mind. Heck just the gift of cake can brighten up my afternoon.

So if you are the type that likes to give gifts, don't ever let anyone discourage you. (Unless it means debt, don't ever gift yourself into debt!) Gifts can be wonderful and can have such a positive impact on a person, I still have some of my favourite gifts from as far back as at least 20 years ago. Oh heck now I feel old, but I still have them because they mean something to me, they bring me happiness, and I think we could all do with a little more of that.
